Swiss – Georgian Forum on Cultural Diversity: Multilingualism
Swiss – Georgian forum on Cultural Diversity is a CSEM initiative, which aims at creating academic platform for inter-cultural exchange between Georgia and Switzerland. The first event under this initiative will be focused on multilingual education, its theoretical approaches and applicability for Georgia. The event is to be held in Tbilisi on 1st of November 2016.
During one day conference invited Swiss expert will present peculiarities of bilingual education in Switzerland followed by discussions on Georgian educational system and prospects of bilingual education in Georgia. The conference will also focus on international mechanisms of language protection with the special emphasis on the European Charter for Regional and Minority Languages (ECRML).
The conference is supported by the Academic Swiss Caucasus Net (ASCN). This programme aims at promoting social sciences and humanities in the South Caucasus.
