Conference: Swiss-Georgian Forum on Cultural Diversity: Multilingualism

On 1st of November Centre for the Studies of Ethnicity and Multiculturalism (CSEM) organized an international conference entitled “Swiss-Georgian Forum on Cultural Diversity: Multilingualism”. The conference aimed at experience sharing and academic exchange in the field of diversity management. Participants discussed different aspects of multilingual education and language policies both in Switzerland and Georgia. The Swiss experience was presented by Dr. Claudine Brohy (University of Fribourg/Freiburg), while Georgian approaches towards multilingual education and language issues were discussed by representatives of different state agencies, linguists and advocates of minority rights.

The conference was supported by the Academic Swiss Caucasus Net (ASCN). This programme aims at promoting social sciences and humanities in the South Caucasus.
