Lahiji/Tat Ethno-linguistic Groups in Georgia

CSEM has conducted the study on Lahiji ethnic community of Georgia. Lahijis are residing in village Gombori of Sagarejo Municipality, however in census documents, both during the Soviet period and today they are registered as Azerbaijanians. Lahijis are people of Iranian origin whose native language is Tati. CSEM paper discusses ethno-linguistic peculiarities of Lahiji/Tati community and suggests recommendations for state and other public institutions dealing with different aspects of cultural diversity.
